“Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Everyone must give according to what he has inwardly decided; not sadly, not grudgingly, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Responding to a proven need is charity. Charity is important, but far less than true Stewardship. True Stewardship responds to a need in our hearts more than a need in our world. Your generous heart can make your church, your community and your world a much better place.
Consider gifts that are:
~The first funds set aside and though fully planned
~A commitment – the same, recurring amounts
~Automatic deductions from your credit card
~Regularly reviewed – and increased or decreased as resources change
Good stewards often experience fewer conflicts about money and less concern for material goods. As disciples of the Lord, we recognize the Lord our God as the source of all blessings and are called to prayerfully consider a proper return to Him in our giving.
