St. John Vianney College Seminary is a fully accredited four year college which offers Bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Theology. It's primary mission is to form and prepare men who are studying for the priesthood on the undergraduate level through a comprehensive program of academic, spiritual, communal, and apostolic formation.
St. John Vianney and its students attempt to make use of the diverse forms of ministry which comprise the church of South Florida, so that its graduates, who continue on through theology to the priesthood, will be well trained to serve a diversified and vibrant church. Most of St. John Vianney College Seminary's seminarian graduates continue onto Florida's major seminary, St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary located in Boynton Beach (near West Palm Beach). These two instutions have contributed greatly to the formation of fine and dedicated priests and lay leaders in Florida. St. John Vianney College Seminary reflects an energetic, vital and deep-seated conmitment on the part of the people of God of South Florida to provide quality education for the priests of the future.
Twice a year (usually the 2nd Weekend of November and March), those interested in discerning a priestly vocation are invited to spend the weekend at the seminary for a "Vocation Awareness Weekend." There is no cost for the weekend and free Transportation is normally provided from the Diocese of St. Petersburg. For more information on visting the seminary,
