The Nursing Home Ministry is guided by “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:41)
This is what St. Mother Theresa of Calcutta called “the Gospel of Five Fingers.” She would hold up her hand and count off her fingers saying, “You did it for me.”
The Nursing Home Ministry is now gearing-up and looking for parishioners who are interested in participating in visits to local nursing homes.
We are planning weekly visits in which our volunteers pray the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with interested Catholic and non-Catholic local nursing home residents. We already have started weekly hour-long prayer visits to the Legacy at Highwoods Preserve, a nursing home in New Tampa, on Mondays in the early afternoon.
As our ministry matures, our visits also will include mutual conversations, sharing life experiences and offering small gifts of cards, rosaries and other items donated by St. Mark Parishioners.
If you are interested in joining our ministry, please reach out to us via the email below. Many thanks and God bless, the Nursing Home Ministry members.
