Saints are people who have died and have been recognized by the Church for having an exceptional degree of holiness, purity, sanctity, or virtue. When a Saint is canonized by the Church, he/she is given a feast day on the Church's calendar. Since multiple saints have the same feast day, which saint is celebrated depends on local customs.
This book tells the stories of many saints (St. Nicholas, St. Monica, St. Benedict, St. Thomas Becket, and many others) in ways that children can relate the story to their own lives.
In this book, the author gives a biographical information about each saint, quotations, reflections, Scripture verses, and activities that you can do in your family to learn more about each saint. Some of the saints that are covered are: St. Jerome, St. Francis of Assist, St. Monica, and St. Bernadette.
These books have one saint for each day of the year. The book gives a short biographical sketch of the day's saint, written on about a 3rd-4th grade level.
There are many web resources out there for celebrating feastdays and learning more about the saints. In the future months, we will feature more of these resources!
