April and May have been a very busy time here at St. Mark. First of all, I had an opportunity to bring out the golf sticks for a fundraiser for L.E.A.P.S. Academy held at Black Diamond Country Club. This annual event to benefit children with special needs was a great success. It was my first time playing this great golf course and I even got the chance to meet ex-baseball great, Daryl Strawberry! I realized how God still works miracles as we heard about his complete turn around from drug addiction all due to his faith in God. Another miracle was how well I played that day! I'm looking forward to next year already.
During Mother's Day weekend, we celebrated First Communion for over 150 children! This is always one of my favorite liturgies as these children receive Jesus for the very first time in this special way. I would like to thank Laura Rivera and all those who took part in the children's journey to this special moment. Congratulations to all of you!
In early June, two of our parish members, Pablo Riano and Hector Rios will be installed as Lectors at the Bethany Center Retreat house. This is an important first step towards their eventual Ordination as Deacons for the Catholic Church. Let us congratulate and continue to pray for them in their journey.
That is all for now. May God continue to bring you closer to Him!
