By now we are over half way through Lent and I hope it has been a good one for all of you so far. Even if we have stumbled, there is still time to get back on track and truly celebrate the Easter Event with joy! This Thursday night, March 30th at 7 pm, we will celebrate one of the great Sacraments of the Church, the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I can't think of a better way to come back to God and admit our weakness and show how much we need His Grace. Please join us!
We also welcomed Bishop Gregory Parkes to St. Mark last Monday as he continued his listening tours around the Diocese to see how we can better serve God and His people. What a great honor for us to be one of the parishes chosen to host this event. I look forward to hearing many of the comments these sessions generated. Let's keep praying for our Bishop as he begins his new ministry to our Diocese.
This past week I finally visited the golf course and was able to get out in the great sunshine and admire God's wonderful creation. It's too bad that sometimes it feels like a long walk spoiled by my rotten play. Anyway, I'm using it for penance for all my sins. At least, that's something to look forward to.
Save the date: The Columbiettes are hosting the next Tea Party for May 6th, 2017. These are always fun events where many of our parishioners display their musical and acting talents. You might even rub elbows with some "famous" performers if you attend. All proceeds go to paying down our debt on the new Church.
Well, that is all for now. My prayers are always with you!
