By now we are in the dog days of summer when the weather is hot and the beaches are brimming with locals and tourists. I really have never been a beach person ever since the days our family used to travel to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire. Not only was the sand so hot it would burn your feet, but the water was so cold that your toes would freeze. No wonder why I'm not a huge fan! Anyway, it's usually very cool in Church so I would recommend visiting often during this summer. It might do more for you than just getting a tan!
Last week I attended the graduation of our very own Vivian Sola from the Lay Ministry Pastoral Institute (LPMI) which is directed by the Diocese of St. Petersburg. This will give Vivian an actual degree in Church ministry along with the experience and knowledge of how a Parish operates. She will also be able to minister to our congregation in more effective ways. I would say that this honor is just shy of Ordination! Congratulations to Vivian and we look forward to many more great things from you!
No golf to report on since February! Maybe I will work up the courage to play in this unbearable heat! On second thought, maybe not!
Anyway, have a great summer and continue to enjoy the gifts that God has given us in each other.
