Wow! What a great Christmas experience in our new Church as thousands of people came through our doors, many seeing the Church for the first time. Overall, we had many compliments and I thank all those who decorated the Church so beautifully for Christmas. It definitely takes a village to prepare these celebrations! If you would enjoy helping us for these types of events, please email me and we would love to have you!
As many of you are aware, we are beginning the
Year of Generosity as the third initiative in our quest to help us be more of a dynamic Catholic. Along with the Finance Council support, we are dedicating the biblical tithe of 10% of our offertory will be going to charity. One half of that 10% will be going to Saint Vincent de Paul to help the needy. Another 4% will go to Catholic Education which includes subsidies to our Catholic Schools. The last 1% will go to various charities in our community. In order for Stewardship to take hold in our parish on a deeper level, I will be eliminating various envelopes from your packet and putting my faith that God will provide. Thus, our Annual Pastoral Appeal and the St. Vincent de Paul envelopes will be eliminated from your monthly packet. However, if you wish to give directly to these important ministries, just make out your check to them and we will make sure they receive it. Just remember in this
Year of Generosity, the more we give, the more our charities will receive. May God bless you for your commitment and pray for its success.
On February 21st, 2016, we will have our annual golf tournament at Hunters Green! This year promises to be a lot of fun. As I get older, your chances to win at the
Beat the Priest hole becomes even greater. See the bulletin for sign ups.
Lastly,
Christ Renews His Parish is again underway! What a great way to start the new year with a spiritual shot in the arm. Check the bulletin for details.
Well, that is all for now. May God in His mercy look upon us and bless us with joy!
