The Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for assisting the Sr. Brand Manager with the development and execution of all marketing initiatives for specific brand lines (or functional brand areas) across all sales and marketing channels to meet established annual sales and performance goals. The Assistant Brand Manager will work with the Sr. Brand Manager and Business Unit Director to set business objectives, define key brand strategies and product positioning, manage allocated budgets, develop and execute marketing programs, oversee production of all marketing assets and coordinate the launch of new products. The Assistant Brand Manager is responsible for acting as the brand champion within the company, setting and delivering on the desired customer experience expectations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development of annual marketing plans and product positioning strategies
• Manage all day-to-day marketing activities associated with product line
• Responsible for development and execution of marketing/launch plans for specific product lines
• Provide guidance to and execute Sales Training materials such as sales sheets, product reviews, sales scripts and customer service support
• Conduct regular analysis and provide recommendations on brand performance in the areas of sales, budgets, enrollments, customer satisfaction, demographics, response rates and other key business drivers
• Regularly provide analysis on market trends and competitive products to provide input and guidance on product features, pricing & marketing strategies, gap analysis and product enhancement strategies
• Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of all new courses and course upgrades
• Provide forecasts for and ensure adequate inventories of all course materials and books
• Manage all brand building and lead generating strategies and activities
• Provide appropriate direction and support to internal groups such as media buying (interactive & print), graphic design, copywriting, database marketing and corporate sales
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all projects
• Ensure accuracy of all website content and update/maintain site(s) as appropriate
• Develop and recommend product budgets
• Manage all marketing expenditures to keep projects within budgetary guidelines
• Act as liaison with and maintain positive relationships with University partners
• Assist in preparation of brand reviews to internal management and sales presentations to major customers
• Direct accountability for individual sales and service goals
• Develop and execute territory management plans
• Light regional/national travel, Sales forecasts, pricing, contract negotiation and quota achievement
• Develop strong client relationships aimed at selling a diverse portfolio of educational service offerings
• Maintain customer relationships to maximize product/service satisfaction and obtain new sales
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience in service marketing, educational marketing/sales, software marketing or brand/product marketing management
• Fiscally responsible
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills, team oriented and proactive
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Ability to drive consensus among divergent groups
• Excellent product marketing skills including the ability to create marketing plans, develop product positioning, provide business and competitive analysis
• Experience working with and directing creative strategy in the areas of interactive media, direct marketing, websites and print/collateral
• Minimum 3-5 years solutions based sales experience
• Ability to travel
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Experience in managing the prospecting and sales cycles
• Excellent organizational and follow through skills
• Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing, MBA preferred
