Are you a faithful Catholic with a heart for middle and/or high school youth? You could be the example that makes a difference in a young person's life!
We are desperately in need of more youth ministry stewards who are willing to commit to the youth of our parish in one of the following ways:
1. YDisciple Adult Mentor: Help facilitate a small group of high school teens on Sunday or Monday who are participating in our YDisciple formation program. Weekly commitment to these teens, as well as being prepared before each session, are essential.
2. Lighthouse 2:42 Team Member: Assist our Echo Apprentice by being a caring and supportive adult presence at weekly Lighthouse 2:42 meetings for high school youth on Wednesday nights. These teens are active and faithful and excited to dive deeper into the Catholic Faith. Many already serve as Peer Ministers at YDisciple. There is a heavy focus on building community and on leadership development at Lighthouse 2:42, and team members work together, leading different activities during each meeting.
3. BEACON Team Member: Assist our Coordinator of Youth Ministry by being a caring and supportive adult presence at weekly BEACON meetings for middle school youth on Wednesday nights. This is a large group of middle schoolers who are excited for snacks, games, fellowship, and learning more about God. Team members typically work in a rotation with the Coordinator of Youth Ministry to plan the meetings, usually planning one or two meetings each semester. Everyone works together to facilitate meetings.
4. Retreat/Special Event Chaperone: Are you not able to make a weekly commitment but still want to work with the youth? We need dedicated stewards who can volunteer for one weekend a month, one week a year, or on special occasions. Youth Ministry hosts and participates in many different events throughout the year, and our regular volunteer Youth Ministers are not always able to chaperone. These are some of the most fun and rewarding parts of Youth Ministry!
