Carrying Your Cancer Cross
MISSION
Provide support, encouragement, and spirtiual strength through discussion and prayer to cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.
Almost everyone knows someone who's been touched by cancer. In Florida, the estimated number of new cases in 2017 are 66,040 from breast, uterine/cervical, colon/rectal, leukemia, lung, and prostate cancers.

Discuss how to live joyfully from diagnosis, through treatments, and beyond.
Pray the 9 day Novena to St Peregrine, Patron Saint of cancer suffers.
Make prayer shawls.
Once a quarter attend a daily Mass together.
Arrange for Anointings, special prayers, and blessings of personal items.
Connect people when needed to accompany patients who are alone to appointments and treatments.
Investigate new treatments and discuss grants to help pay for treatments.
Gather fundraising ideas and implement once a year to benefit St. Mark parish.
MINISTRY ORGANIZATION
The Ministry Leader will facilitate the meetings, but the members of the Ministry will own it, Toni Martin will be the initial Ministry Leader.
Anticipate 12 one-hour meetings yearly.
No need to sign up; just come when you're feeling up to it. Stay as long as you feel well.
Those that suspect they may have cancer are also welcome.
Meet in Mark 1 and 2 classrooms in the Venetian at 7PM on the first Thursday of the month starting June 1, 2017.
Purell, isolation masks, alcohol swabs, Ginger Ale, Water, sugar-free hard candies, notepads, and pencils will be provided at all meetings.
